Bitten phone box is a public art project made in association with Croydon’s Rise Gallery. It was installed on 4th of September 2018. It was created for the Croydon’s Rise Festival.
But what does it mean???
Like many of the street art pieces, murals or graffiti, the meaning is in the eye of the beholder.
My goal of the phone box is to be fun and put a smile on people’s faces. It has been met with positive reaction from the community especially those who see it for the first time.
Experiencing an unexpected, fun and non-offensive artwork puts us, the viewers, into a better mood, makes us smile and helps us relax. Experiencing something different and out of ordinary helps us look at the situations/world/problems in a new unorthodox way. The purpose of this fun artwork is to encourage divergent thinking also know as thinking outside the box.
